The designs of Kantha saree are taken from day-to-day life, depicting folk stories , epics, mythological background, geometric designs, ritualistic motifs, luxurious vegetation with roaming animals, running dear, dancing peacock, temples etc. “Kalka” is an important motif, (a cone or mango shaped,) embroidered in association with spiral whirls, broad band of circles, lotus or heart shaped foliage.
